The R-278B/GR is a control tower receiver (rack mounted) manufactured by Collins Radio Company, used on airports to control planes traffic. The receiver use 30 tubes, glass miniature type, octal and UX4 in the power supply. Power requirements: AC voltage 115 or 230 V, 50 - 60 Hz, max 470 W absorbed.
This R-278B/GR radio was designed by Collins Radio Company for the the US Army. This radio was build by the General Motors Corporation.
